Original Broadway Cast. This is a CD that’s going to get quite a bit of play in my house. 🙂 Although I wasn’t blown away by the music in the theatre, it comes across very well on the recording, and improves on each listen. The orchestrations are wonderful. There’s quite a bit of music left out here, and a lot of dialogue bits in the songs, which I’m assuming is mostly to protect certain plot points, but makes it rather difficult to follow the story. Still, even with just the highlights, the cast makes this purchase a no-brainer – Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel sound amazing, and the rest of the cast are equally strong, albeit with lesser material. Definitely check it out for yourself! |
