A new experience added!

It’s 300 years in the future in a globalized world where music is manufactured and personal expression outlawed. Everyone’s happy – unless they just want to rock. It’s like 1984, but with a happier ending. 🙂 Read the complete synopsis.

Most of the Queen songs have been incorporated intact, though some changes have been made – browse through the lyrics to see how it all fits together.

Formed in 1971, Queen was one of the most influential bands of the ’70s and ’80s. The band was constantly reinventing itself, and owed at least some of its success to the personality of lead singer Freddie Mercury, though all four members were accomplished songwriters. Read more about Queen or find out more about the history of the musical.

I’ve got to admit I didn’t own any Queen albums until after I bought this CD – hearing all the songs together like this made me want to listen to the originals. But they’re fun to listen to in this incarnation as well. Take a look at my review of the CD, or listen to a clip from one of my favourite songs.

I was hoping this show would make it to New York sooner or later, but it never did. Instead, they decided to bring it to Toronto TWO DAYS after I left the city. Grrr. Luckily, I was leaving the city to move to London, so I was able to see it there. 🙂 Read more about that experience.

So far, all my favourite actors in this show come from the CD – take a look at my thoughts on some of them!
