Vienna Cast Recording. Whenever I become a big fan of a show based solely on the cast recording, it’s usually a good indication that I enjoy the cast recording. 🙂 And that’s the case here. I actually bought the highlights recording first, since I was told that it contained all the important music from the show, and I would agree that that’s a pretty fair assessment. The complete recording includes more dialogue, more underscoring, and only a little more of actual songs. I would say that if you’re curious about the show, the highlights recording would do, but most fans would probably want to own the complete one. There are some really great orchestrations, and the cast is wonderful, especially Steve Barton and Aris Sas. I defy anyone who grew up in the ’80s to listen to this and not have “Total Eclipse of the Heart” stuck in your head for days! |
