The legend of Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street, goes back more than 200 years. It has been adapted in several different forms, including a play by Christopher Bond in the 1970s. It was this play that the musical version evolved from.
Read a bit more about the “real” Sweeney Todd, or the development of the musical. In 2008 a movie version was released by director Tim Burton – read some of my thoughts about that film.

I’ve got a couple of recordings of this show so far, and they’re both good ones! Read my reviews of the CDs, or listen to a clip from one of my favourite songs.

This was the first Sondheim show that I got to see on stage! It was part of Canstage’s 2003 season – read more about experience with the show.

Here are just a few of my favourite actors that I’ve heard or seen in this show.
