Music and Songs from Starlight Express. This was the first recording I got, and there are some things I really like about it. I think El DeBarge is great, and I love the song “There’s Me”, which has been changed in later versions. You can’t really get an idea of the story from this, but if you’re a fan of the show and are interested in the evolution of it, this is a good recording to get. |

The New Starlight Express. This is a recording from 1993 of the revised London production. It is extremely different from the concept recording, and for the most part, much better. I like most of the musical changes, though, as I said above, I miss “There’s Me”. “U.N.C.O.U.P.L.E.D.” has become something of a theme song for me and my friends. 😉 The cast is pretty good, and this is a good introduction to the show! |

Bochum Starlight Express. This is a live recording of the German cast, and it’s fabulous! It’s by far the most complete of the three recordings I own, and the cast is really great. I especially like the guy who plays Rusty and the girl who plays Dinah. I’m always a little leery about the sound quality on live recordings, but this one is great. I highly recommend it! |
