This is a cry for help. Someone has to stop this *NSYNC thing before it goes too far. Sheesh. I thought I was over this boy band thing like 10 years ago. If anyone can explain to me why I feel the need to listen to “It’s Gonna Be Me” 20 times a day, I would greatly appreciate it. I actually bought the CD. How sad is that? And I have a favourite member of the band too. But I’m not saying which one. 🙂 And of course this is just all the more ironic since I posted a couple of months ago that I didn’t care about *NSYNC. Now I actually *would* like to go to a concert. Aaaaahhhh!!!!

Um, yeah. Anyway. I can’t believe I haven’t written anything in here for almost a month. Not a whole lot has happened – just working way too much, and spending all my money on things like *NSYNC CDs. Although, I just got a CD in the mail yesterday that should at least take the *NSYNC CD out of my CD player for a while. And that Cd would be … *drum roll* … Doug LaBrecque’s CD!!! Finally! After like 5 years of waiting for it, I finally have my very own copy. And it’s WONDERFUL!!!! Please, people, do yourself a favour, and buy this CD. It’s not easy to come by, but it’s worth it.

There’s not a whole lot of accompaniment on it – mostly it’s just Doug and the piano. Which is kind of nice, gives it a sort of cabaret feel. And he sounds just fabulous. I think my favourites, after listening to it only a few times yet (:-) are “I’ll Never Say Goodbye”, “Unusual Way”, “I Want to Go Back to Michigan” (I dare anyone to listen to that and not laugh!), and “The Trolley Song”. And considering there’s only 10 songs on the recording, that’s pretty good. 🙂 They’re all great though!! I’m hoping to add sound clips to his site very, very soon. Oh, and other news about the site … it will soon be available through www.douglabrecque.com! My first domain name!! I’m excited. 🙂

I went to my friend Tanya’s last night, and she played me a recording of Michael Ball doing “Phantom of the Opera” with Marie Zamora. I couldn’t believe how great he sounded! I mean, not that I don’t always think Michael sounds great, but I never really thought he’d be able to pull off the Phantom. But after listening to that, I may have to re-think that opinion!

Congratulations again also to Tanya, in case you read this, on your engagement! I know you’ll be very happy!

I went to see Scary Movie last weekend, and it was *horrible*! I mean, it was just crude and disgusting, and not even funny to make up for it. What a waste of time and money. I’m sort of tempted to see the new Hamlet, but I just sat through Hamlet a few weeks ago in Stratford, and I don’t know if I’m ready to see it again yet, even for Ethan Hawke. 🙂

Pretty much all my plans are in place for my trip home in August, and I’ve just found a place in Toronto that looks very promising as a potential future home! 🙂 It would be nice to live somewhere that I actually felt comfortable for a change. Anyway, I have my Beauty and the Beast tickets for Calgary – my mom and I are going. It’s going to be really great to take a trip with her. I miss her so much! I haven’t seen her since Christmas, and though we talk all the time, it’s just not the same. Plus, she hasn’t seen a musical since I took her to Miss Saigon 2 years ago. That’s entirely too long!! Plus we’re gonna drive down through Dinosaur Provincial Park, and spend some time in Calgary, just the two of us, so it should be a lot of fun.

If anyone has any ideas on what I should do with my cat for 3 days in a car, I’d love to hear them. Poor thing is going to be traumatized.

Anyway, I wanted to get some updating done to my musical site as well, so I ought to get working on that. I hope everyone’s having a great summer – please feel free to drop me a line and tell me what you’re up to. I’d love to hear it!
