Happy Canada Day!

Alright, so I lied, and I will update today. ๐Ÿ™‚ Mostly just because I have spent the great majority of the day studying auto insurance, and I really need to take a break and think about something else!

On that note, I have designed a little webpage for my Europe trip, so you can all keep updated on my plans if you’d like. Things are still pretty up in the air, but are starting to take a more definite shape!

The U.S. trip is really getting set in stone, as we leave exactly a month from today! Here’s the itinerary for that one:

August 1 – pick up the car, drop off Tiger ๐Ÿ™
August 2 – drive to Bowling Green, Kentucky
August 3 – see Mammoth Cave, drive to Memphis, Tennessee
August 4 – tour Graceland, Memphis sightseeing
August 5 – more Memphis sightseeing, drive to Alabama
August 6 – drive to Palm Harbor, Florida
August 7 – DisneyWorld!
August 8 – Caladesi Island, hanging out on the beach
August 9 – St. Petersburg and Tampa sightseeing
August 10 – drive to Charleston, South Carolina
August 11 – carriage tour of Charleston, drive to Maryland
August 12 – Washington D.C. sightseeing, drive to NYC
August 13 – Statue of Liberty, WTC site, a show (maybe Hairspray?)
August 14 – Central Park, the Met, 5th Ave., another show (Rent, probably)
August 15 – drive back to Toronto, pick up Tiger ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, while my mom’s here in the city (July 30-31 and August 16-18), we’ll be going to the Exhibition, seeing Twelfth Night at Shakespeare in the Park, going to the St. Lawrence Market, maybe doing the Medieval Times thing, and more!

I also have to go downtown tomorrow and pick up tickets for 2 Pianos, 4 Hands for me and a couple of work colleagues in September. I’ve seen the show once before, in Ottawa, and really enjoyed it, and this time it should be even better, as it’s the original cast (the two guys who wrote it!).

Saturday night was a lot of fun! We went to the Joker for their retro ’80s night, and danced for 4 hours straight. And I’m not exaggerating. ๐Ÿ™‚ The music was great, except that they wouldn’t play any of our requests! (Well, they played one of mine, but I requested 4, so that’s not a very good percentage. And they didn’t play any of my friends’ requests). I was especially sad that they didn’t play “One Night in Bangkok”.

It’s a good thing we didn’t go out looking for guys though – I only saw one really attractive guy all night, and that was at the hot dog stand after the clubs had closed, and by that time, the alcohol had worn off, and I was too shy to say anything to him. ๐Ÿ˜‰
