Listen to me, I have beautiful dreams I can spin you…

In a way, it’s someone else’s story
I don’t see myself as taking part at all

Merry Christmas everyone! The past couple of weeks have just flown by…due mainly to the fact that I’ve been working pretty much non-stop. I should have lots of money to get me back and so on, but I don’t really feel like I’ve had a break yet. And those two papers that are due when I get back haven’t even begun yet, so that’s not good. However, there’s plenty of time to stress over that later. πŸ™‚

Christmas here was fine…since all my brothers and sisters are lazy, we didn’t start to open gifts or anything until about 10:30 this morning. I got some things I needed…a new CD player, new shoes, a good winter coat, a new dress, etc. I also got a church for my Christmas town, and lots of candy/chocolate, which I’m sure is contributing to the fact that I don’t feel that well at the moment. πŸ™‚ I bought my youngest sister the VeggieTales singalong video, so fun times were had by all there. πŸ™‚ And my mother appeared to like the cross stitch Santa I made her, so that was good. My grandfather came down for the day, and my grandma on the other side has been here for a week already, so we had a bit of family, and a nice dinner. The only problem was that my sister used all the eggs in the house to make omelettes for lunch, so I wasn’t able to make the raspberry tiramisu cake I had planned on making for dinner. Maybe I’ll make it for New Year’s or something.

I also had a really nice surprise when one of my friends from New York called me…I hadn’t talked to her since June!! We talked for way too long…I feel bad about her phone bill…but it was great to hear from her. I also ran into one of my old friends from high school the other day that I haven’t seen in a few years, and he made me promise to phone him before I leave so we could get together…that should be nice.

Other than that, not much is up. We’ve had beautiful weather the last few days…above freezing, and the snow is melting! Apparently it was 17 degrees in Calgary yesterday! (That’s about 60 for you non-metric folk…pretty warm for December in these parts!) I plan on spending New Year’s at home with my family, and my grandfather’s 75th birthday is as few days after, so we’re going up to his place for a big dinner before I head back to Ottawa.

I just found out that Doug LaBrecque won’t be doing the concert in Pennsylvania that I had planned on attending. πŸ™ I’m really disappointed about that…it’s been much too long since I’ve seen him. Hopefully something else will come up.

Anyway, there’s a bit of as lineup to use the computer here, since it’s been down all day….and hotmail doesn’t appear to be working at the moment either. Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful day, and for all those to whom I owe email, it’s on its way!!
