I Am What I Am

Date: August 4, 2000

Time: 7:45 p.m.

Most recently listened to: A Very Veggie Christmas

Going to do after this: Go over to Laurie’s

So I thought that maybe if I didn’t update for a while, I’d get over the *NSYNC thing and be able to tell you all that everything’s back to normal. Unfortunately, it hasn’t happened. I’ve now bought their first CD and the Christmas CD. I watched a special on them on MusiquePlus three times last weekend. I bought a picture on Ebay. Thank you to those that wrote to express your concern, but I just don’t know what to do! And no, J.C. is not my favourite (although that was a good guess! :-).

Anyway. Speaking of Christmas CDs, I got the VeggieTales one too, which I listened to 4 times at work today. 🙂 It’s so hilarious! I think my favourite part is when Larry introduces his friend Manuel, and says, “He’s going to play the drums. ‘Cause he’s got hands.” LOL! I love that cucumber. Oh, and when Jerry goes, “Ich bin ein gourd”. You really just have to hear it. 🙂

I’m going to Toronto this weekend to look at apartments and stuff, so wish me luck! There’s one place that I’m *really* interested in, so I really hope to get that. The other ones don’t sound near as good. I had also planned to go see some shows while I was there, but since I was misinformed about the existence of rush seats, that’s no longer happening. 🙂 However, I should get to meet up with Karen and Gill, so it’ll be just like old times!

I just have to brag about my little brother for a minute. This weekend he’s in Edmonton, competing in not one, but two provincial ball tournaments. First is the “Hit, Run and Throw” competition, where he placed first in the region, and is ranked second in the province going into it! If he wins that, he gets to go to nationals in Toronto in September (which would be very cool, because *I’m* going to be in Toronto in September! :-). And then, his “A” baseball team went to provincials a couple of weeks ago, and although they didn’t do that well, he played well enough to be picked up for the “AA” provincial tournament last weekend. And though *that* team didn’t win either, he was picked up for the “AAA” tournament this weekend! If his team wins there, they get to go to nationals in Summerside, PEI. And there’s also a chance he’ll be playing in the “AA” western provincials when I’m home. Bet you’d never guess I had an athletically gifted sibling! 🙂

So yeah, home. I’m going home on the 19th, for a week and a half, and I can’t wait. I haven’t been home since Christmas!! That means I haven’t seen my cat for more than 7 months!! It was his birthday yesterday, and it’s the first time I haven’t been with him on his birthday. He’s 8 years old now. I can’t believe it! I’m also, of course, very excited to see my mom and my little brother, and all my other siblings. We’re having a big family BBQ at my grandpa’s while I’m out there, and my mom and I are doing the BatB Calgary trip, and I’ll see my other grandparents when I fly back, so all in all, it should just be a really fun trip. Aside from the packing part while I’m home. 🙂

Anyway, I’m supposed to be walking to Laurie’s right now, since we’re going out tonight since I’m not going to Toronto until tomorrow now. Follow all that? 🙂 But school’s on the way from my house to hers, so I made a quick pit stop. Hope you all have a great long weekend, and hopefully next time I post in here, I can say I have a place to live in Toronto!
