Well, it’s officially my last weekend in Ottawa! I just got my plane ticket, and I’m flying home next Saturday. So to celebrate, a bunch of us are going out tonight. But first I have to go home and watch “Making the Band”. 🙂
Good news is … I have a place to live in Toronto! Woo hoo! After a VERY long day in the city (I arrived at 6:15 a.m. and left at midnight), it turns out my cat and I will be living in a basement apartment in North York with one other girl and her cat. It’s a little small, but for the price, it’s worth it. 🙂 I don’t know exactly when I’m moving yet, but it’ll be right around the 1st of September.
Besides being long, the day in Toronto was a lot of fun though. I went to mass at St. Michael’s in the morning and then met up with Karen and Gill, which was a lot of fun, and we did some power theatre-shopping. 🙂 I spent too much money, of course, but it was worth it! I got the Little by Little cast recording, which Kristal had played for me before, and I’m hooked now. I love Christiane! And we also went to M. Félix and Mr. Norton cookies, which is *always* a good thing. 🙂 They went to see the matinee of Lion King, and I tried to get a ticket to that or Mamma Mia, but there were none to be had. So I went to see Gladiator instead, which I’ve been meaning to see for a while – good movie! Though I had my eyes closed for a great deal of it. And then that night I saw a play at the Summerworks theatre festival, about “love, obsession, and pop music”. 🙂 It was kinda interesting!
I was late for work this morning – slept right through my alarm! But I have a good excuse! A couple of friends of mine from Secondaire V were in town, and since I hadn’t seen them for 5 years, I thought we should get together. 🙂 So since I generally go to bed pretty early, they just came over to my house. Well, they didn’t leave until after midnight, and then I talked to my mom for over an hour after that. So my alarm must have gone off at 4:30 as usual, but I sure didn’t hear it! 🙂
I’m quite disappointed now because I’m hardly going to be able to spend any time with my little brother when I’m at home! 🙁 But, the good news is, the reason I won’t see him is that he’s going to be in Prince Edward Island playing baseball!! His team didn’t win, but the team that *did* win decided to pick him up, so he gets to go. And not only that, but he won the “Hit, Run and Throw” competition too!! They think he might have even set an Alberta record. He ran around the bases in 11 seconds!!! Can you believe that? It’s crazy!! So anyway, he gets to go to the national competition for that too, which just happens to be in Toronto! So he and my parents are going to that, and I’m going to get to go watch the competition and stuff too. I’m so proud of him!
Anyway, I should get going and get supper and do a bit more packing before I head out. I’m really going to have to get serious about this packing soon. My walls are still half-covered, and all my tapes and CDs need to be wrapped up and packed. Fun! *rolling eyes* Have a great weekend!
