This show had a very limited run on Broadway, opening September 19, 1997. Despite being nominated for 4 Tony Awards (Best Musical, Best Actress in a Musical – Alice Ripley & Emily Skinner, Best Score – Henry Krieger & Bill Russell, and Best Book – Bill Russell), and developing a devoted following of fans, the show closed on January 3, 1998. There are still many fans of this show, who are trying to have it mounted again. There have been, and continue to be, regional productions produced, and hopefully we will see it playing again professionally somewhere soon. |
