Roméo & Juliette had its official press launch on February 14, 2000 – a fitting date for arguably the greatest love story of all time. On January 19, 2001, the show opened at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. After Paris, the French tour plays/has played Orléans, Le Mans, Caen, Rouen,
Amnéville, Grenoble, Lyon, Montpellier, Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux, Pau, and Geneva, Switzerland. The show toured Canada in the summer of 2002, performing in Quebec, Montreal and Ottawa. The official website has listed up to 17 countries with planned productions upcoming, in 9 different languages, including an English production in London, which began previews on October 12, 2002 and had its official opening on November 4, 2002 at the Picadilly Theatre. The production closed there on February 8, 2003.
The show is currently playing at the Budapest Operetta since January 23, 2004, and in Moscow, Russia since May 20, 2004. A German-language production premiered in Vienna on February 24, 2005.
