I saw the first part of this DVD while visiting a friend in Europe, and I was so disappointed to learn that it’s not available in North America! However, I have been able to see the complete recording since then, and I really, really enjoyed it. I think that this show, like Notre Dame de Paris is really a “spectacle” more than a traditional stage show, and is therefore well-suited to the video format. The cast is wonderful, and the quality of the recording is superb. When they show the audience, I can’t help but thinking that the people way in the back should have just waited to watch the video. 🙂 The curtain call is really fun too, and overall I’m just thrilled that they captured the original cast in this way!
I’m not sure if it will be released in Region 1 DVD, but if I find out anything else, I’ll post it here! If you are in Europe, or can play European DVDs, you can buy this DVD at Sound of Music. |
