The movie was released in 1975, and has become one of the greatest cult classics of all time, and a part of our collective pop culture consciousness. Midnight Halloween screenings in full costume are a regular occurrence in many cities, but for audience participation, nothing compares to seeing the show on stage! I can’t say I ever had a huge desire to run out and see this show – until it turned out that Terrence Mann would be playing Frank ‘N Furter in the New York revival. And then you couldn’t have kept me away! 🙂 I almost missed it when it closed briefly after Sept. 11/01, but luckily it re-opened, and I was there! Read my thoughts on that performance.
