Original Broadway Cast. I feel that this is a show that really has to be seen to be believed, and so because of that, the recording suffers a little. It is, however, still very funny, and you do get some idea of the great performances that make up every part of this show. The music is not one of my favourite parts of the show, so I don’t anticipate using this CD as background music or anything like that. It is good if you want to get an idea of what the show is about, but overall it kind of makes it clear to me why some people think it strange that I listen to cast recordings – it’s kind of like listening to a movie on tape. |
