Original Broadway Cast. As the only cast recording of this show, I have to say that it’s worthwhile getting just to hear the score, even without the recording’s other good qualities. Songs like “Morning Glow” and “With You” are favourites of mine. Chief among those qualities are the cast, especially the wonderfully engaging performance of Ben Vereen. The recording has been re-mastered, and the CD features bonus tracks from Motown – The Supremes’ “I Guess I’ll Miss the Man,” the Jackson 5 on “Corner of the Sky,” and Michael Jackson with “Morning Glow.” |
