 Charlemagne was arguably the greatest king of medieval Europe, and his son Pepin (or Pippin here) briefly ruled over part of the kingdom. Although based on real historical figures, the story of the show is completely fictional. Still, if you’re interested, you can read a bit more about the real Pepin, son of Charlemagne, or you can find out more about the development of the musical. |
