| The Light in the Piazza premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago on January 20, 2004, and debuted on Broadway at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Centre on April 18, 2005. It was originally intended to be a limited run, but due to its critical and popular success, was extended and played there until July 2, 2006. It can now be seen on national tour across the U.S.
The show was nominated for 11 Tony Awards, and took home 6, including Best Actress (Victoria Clark), and Best Score. |
