The Light in the Piazza is one of six different stories in this collection by Elizabeth Spencer, who had spent five years living in post-war Italy. The Light in the Piazza was originally published in 1960, and later made into a movie in 1962, starring Olivia de Havilland as Margaret Johnson. Although Elizabeth Spencer wrote many other short stories, novels and non-fiction books, this remained the most popular of all her work.
I haven’t read the story for myself yet, but I’ll be sure to add some thoughts here when I do! |
