![]() Iginio Ugo Tarchetti wrote the novel Fosca in 1869, shortly before he died at the age of 29. The story was revived in the 1981 Italian film Passione d’amore before Lapine and Sondheim turned it into a musical. Find out more about the novel, the film, or the development of the musical. |

![]() I haven’t seen this show on stage yet. On CD, it’s my favourite Sondheim show, so I would love to see it sometime – I was so disappointed to miss the production in Washington in 2002. When I do get to see it, I’ll add my thoughts here! |
