Oklahoma is set in the American Indian Territory at the turn of the century. A ranch hand, Curly is infatuated with Laurey, while Will Parker returns early from his trip to Kansas City to find his sweetheart has a problem with the word “no”. Read the
complete synopsis.

You can also take a look at the lyrics from the songs in the show.

Oklahoma! is considered by many to be the first musical comedy to have a plot, musical score and dances that were necessary ingredients to advance the story line. I don’t think anyone would argue that it is one of the great shows of all-time!
Read a bit more about the development of the musical, or read a bit about the movie version.

I’ve got two recordings of this show for now, one of which definitely gets listened to more than the other! Read my reviews of the CDs, or listen to a clip from one of my favourite songs.

There was also a DVD released of the London production – read a bit more about that recording.

I haven’t seen a professional production of this show yet! Though, having seen the movie and the DVD, and amateur productions, I certainly feel familiar with it. 🙂 Still, when I see it, I will add my thoughts here!

There have been a huge number of performers that have done this show over the years – these are just a few of my favourites.

Once you’re done looking around here, check out some of the other Oklahoma! websites that are out there.
