George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion was based on a Greek myth, and in turn formed the basis for Lerner & Loewe’s most popular musical. The 1964 film, starring Audrey Hepburn (dubbed by Marni Nixon) and Rex Harrison is one of the most beloved movie musicals of all time. Read a little more about the play or take a look at some of the history of the musical.

I own two different recordings of this show, and they’re both very good! Take a look at my reviews of the CDs, or listen to a clip from one of my favourite songs.
Although I’ve seen the movie of the musical many times, so far I’ve only seen it on stage once. I thought about seeing this show in London, but unfortunately, it didn’t make the short list. 🙂 However, it was part of the Stratford season in 2002, and I did go to see it there, and enjoyed it very much. Read more of my thoughts on that particular performance.
Having only seen the show once, I don’t have a huge list of favourite performers, but you can take a look at my thoughts on some of the actors who have been in the show!
