Original Broadway Cast. I’ll be the first one to say that the music was not my favourite part of this show when I saw it on stage. And yet, I really enjoy the recording – probably because it helps me to remember how much fun I had at the show! The songs are catchy for the most part, and almost invariably well-sung. You won’t get a lot of idea of the plot from the CD, and the best parts of the show aren’t in the music anyway. I don’t know how I would have felt about this CD if I had heard it before seeing the show…so if you have seen the show, and enjoyed it, you’ll probably enjoy this too. If you haven’t seen the show, and only heard the hype, this CD probably won’t give you much satisfaction. |
