I Have a Dream – Mamma Mia!

Louise Pitre
Louise Pitre. I didn’t get a chance to see her do this show on stage, which is a real shame, for I’ve heard she was phenomenal. Or, as Gill put it, “She didn’t play Donna. She WAS Donna.” 🙂 I have heard her sing a few of the songs on her CD though, and she sounds fantastic! For more, you can check out this biography.

Camilla Scott. Okay, I have to confess I wasn’t exactly thrilled when I ended up seeing Camilla play Donna instead of the afore-mentioned Louise Pitre. But she was really great! She more than held her own during the songs, and I really liked her interpretation of the role. My only “complaint” would have to be that she looked far too young to have a daughter like Sophie! 🙂 You can learn a little more about her at this profile on a great Due South site.

David Keeley
David Keeley. It was kind of strange to see him in this after seeing him at Stratford a few months before, but he made a pretty good Sam, which must be the most thankless role to play. The intro into “Knowing Me, Knowing You” is one of my favourite moments in the show, and he did it so well! His bio is available at the same Due South site.

Tamara Bernier. The more I see her play the role of Tanya, the more convinced I become of her amazing talent! I saw her do a *completely* different part to this in “Outrageous” a few months before seeing her in Mamma Mia, and her versatility is incredible. She nails all the comedic lines, and her voice is perfect. She is a major reason that “Does Your Mother Know” is my favourite part of the show!
