Horrors

Seymour is a young man who works in a flower store. He manages to
create a carnivorous plant that feeds on human blood. Nobody knows
about it, so Seymour and the plant become good “friends”. The plant
needs food to grow up, so it convinces him to start killing people.

The 1960 Roger Corman film of Little Shop was a low-budget,
underground hit. It’s high camp, with basic sets and over-the-top
acting, but very fun. Read some more about the
original movie
! In 1982, it premiered on stage, and then was made
into another movie, of the musical version – find out more about the
history of the musical, and the musical film.

I’ve got two recordings of this show for now, and still
need to pick up the movie soundtrack – although I don’t think that
would change my recommendations about which one to buy! Take a look at
my reviews of the CDs, or listen to a
clip from one of my favourite songs.

This is the one and only show I’ve ever appeared in on stage, in a
university production! I was just in the chorus, but it was an
absolute blast. I’ve seen some professional versions of the show as
well – take a look at my experiences to find out more.

This show is so much fun to do, and such a favourite of regional
theatres, that a lot of actors have appeared in it at some point in
time. Take a look at my thoughts on some of my favourites!

there.
