Do You Hear the People Sing? – Les Misérables

This was my first time seeing Les Mis by myself, and I was in a box seat to boot! 🙂 But really, I wasn’t alone, because I had waited for rush seats (the whole night before!!), and had met some really nice girls that I persuaded to take the box across from me, and who went to the stage door with me too. Also, the girl I ended up sharing the box with was a lovely girl from Manchester, England, and we chatted about theatre in general for quite a while.

Seeing the show from a box was fabulous…part of the stage was blocked from view, but having seen the show five times previously, that wasn’t a huge concern for me. 🙂 The show itself was just incredible…you can read my third experience. A few things that were different…during “Red and Black”, when Enjolras sings, “Who cares about your lonely

soul?”, I was expecting Stephen Bishop (Grantaire) to put his hand up, so I put *mine* up, and one of the students saw me and just cracked up! It was so funny!! 🙂 Also, I actually saw Colm mess up a line!! I was in shock! 🙂

I wasn’t sure if Tim would remember me at the stage door, but I shouldn’t have worried…he was as sweet and wonderful as always, and actually seemed excited to see me! 🙂

The Quotes:

“But you love Bob too, right??”

Some poor misguided Jekkies that I fell into conversation with at the stage door

“Well, for your sake, I hope he’ll be in!”

The person at the box office, when I inquired rather despairingly if Tim would be performing

“You’re a dork.”

Me, to Tim Howar, as he was being his usual giving self 🙂
