These are some of the performers on the CD who really stood out for me!

Helen Sjöholm. I’d never heard of her before, and I don’t think very many people had. It’s always risky to put a major role like this, one that can make or break a show, on the back of someone who’s not well-known. It can be disastrous – or, when it works, it can be brilliant. And in this case, it definitely works! She is fantastic as Kristina – equally adept at being sweet, silly, angry, afraid, confused and determined. She always makes the character accessible, so that we can experience Kristina’s journey with her. Here’s a gorgeous website for Helen. |
Anders Ekborg. Next to Kristina, his is easily the most important part in the show. He is a huge presence in Kristina’s life, and therefore must be to the audience as well. He has a great voice, and is really touching, especially at the end!! You can find some more about him here. | ![]() |

Peter Jöback. This was somebody I had actually heard of before I heard the CD – but only because after the success of this show, he went on to perform in London. 🙂 Robert has some really nice parts to sing, and Peter does a great job of them. He makes Robert a really sympathetic character. Learn much more at the Official Peter Jöback Website. |
Åsa Bergh. It would be pretty easy to let the character of Ulrika become something of a stereotype, but Åsa never does that. She always makes her seem very real – so that both her past mistakes and her present repentment feel like something that could happen to anyone. If you can read Swedish, you can find more about her at Åsa Bergh – Vi sjunger i natt. | ![]() |
