Jersey Boys premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse on October 5, 2004 and ran through January 16, 2005. The show opened at the August Wilson Theatre in New York on November 6, 2005, and the production was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, winning 4 for Best Musical, Best Actor (John Lloyd Young), Best Featured Actor (Christian Hoff) and Best Lighting.
There have been two national tours in the U.S., including long runs in San Francisco and Chicago. The London production premiered at the Prince Edward Theatre on February 28, 2008. An Australian production will open at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne in March 2009. |
