Good ‘n’ Evil – Jekyll & Hyde

I have found a lot of wonderful performers through this show, and the following are just a few of the most impressive!!

Anthony Warlow

Anthony Warlow. *sigh* I had never heard this man sing before Jekyll and Hyde, and it didn’t take me long to realize exactly what I’d been missing! His voice is just AMAZING, and the way he sings these roles are absolutely phenomenal. I love every song he sings, and he makes you feel for the characters so much!! To find out more about him, please visit the Official Anthony Warlow Site.

Ethan Freeman. He played Jekyll/Hyde in the Bremen production of the show, and I was so excited when I heard about it. He’s just perfect for this role. He has a wonderfully expressive voice, and his acting is incredible. Seeing him on stage was the next best thing to seeing Anthony. 🙂 His Jekyll was very sympathetic, and his Hyde was genuinely scary! To find out more, check out the official Ethan Freeman site.

Thomas Borchert

Thomas Borchert Another great Jekyll – he can be heard on the Vienna cast recording. I really liked him in Mozart!, and of course he’s an Elisabeth alumnus, so I was excited to hear he would be playing Jekyll/Hyde. And, of course, he does a wonderful job! To learn more, visit the Thomas Borchert Fanclub site.

Linda Eder. She’s been involved in this show every step of the way, and I can’t remember not thinking of her as Lucy. 🙂 She manages to capture the world-weary attitude of Lucy, while still showing how naive she is. And her voice is really great!! Please visit the Official Linda Eder Website for more information.

Robert Cuccioli. He’s Jekyll/Hyde on the Original Broadway Cast recording, and also played the role on the tour before Broadway. Apparently he’s really good live, but I’m not a huge fan of his voice. However, if you’d like to know more, check out the Official Robert Cuccioli Site.

Rob Evan. The other Broadway Jekyll and Hyde. 🙂 I saw him not too long ago, and I thought he did a pretty good job of it. I especially enjoyed his Jekyll in the second act…you could see just how conflicted he was. You can visit the Official Rob Evan Page for more!

Christiane Noll. She plays Emma on the OBC recording, and she has a BEAUTIFUL voice!! I absolutely love it. I think that “In His Eyes”, with her and Linda Eder, is probably the best song on the Broadway recording! She’s wonderful live as well! It just seems so natural for her! For more information, visit the Official Christiane Noll website.

Colm Wilkinson. He did the concept recording, and does a pretty good rendition of “This is the Moment”! 🙂 It’s always interesting to hear the first person to record a part, and Colm does a good job, though he doesn’t get to do some of the more interesting parts, like the Confrontation! 🙂 Anyway, he’s a wonderful performer, and if you’d like to know more about him, visit the Colm Wilkinson Website.

Frank Mastrone

Frank Mastrone. And finally, the first man I actually saw in the role of Jekyll/Hyde! The day we saw him was actually only the second time he’d ever performed the role, and considering that, he did a wonderful job! He has a very nice voice, but I must say I preferred his Jekyll to his Hyde. And the coolest thing is that I saw him *years* ago as Magaldi in Evita! All in all, a great performer and wonderful person.
