Brave Enough for Love – Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre had its world premiere on December 3, 1996, at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, Canada, where it played for a 12 week engagement, from November 15, 1996, to February 1, 1997. This production starred Marla Schaffel as Jane Eyre and Anthony Crivello as Edward Rochester.

The show was seen in the States for the first time at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, California from July 6 to August 22, 1999. It finally received its Broadway debut in the fall of 2000! Previews began Nov. 8, 2000, with the official opening on December 10. The show closed on June 10, 2001. The show was nominated for 5 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Book, Score, Actress (Marla Schaffel) and Lighting Design.
