More I Cannot Wish You – Guys and Dolls




The original Broadway production of Guys and Dolls opened at the 46th Street Theatre on November 24, 1950 and closed on November 28, 1953. It was nominated for five Tony Awards and won all of them, including Best Musical of 1951. The first London production opened at the Coliseum Theatre on May 28, 1953. The show was revived on Broadway from April 28 to May 9, 1965 at City Center, and from July 21, 1976 to February 13, 1977 at the Broadway Theatre. The most recent revival ran from April 14, 1992 until January 8, 1995 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York. This revival was nominated for seven Tonys and won four of them, including Best Revival. Altogether, the show has won 15 Tonys over the years.

Since its opening, the show has played in countless theatres across the country and around the world. It is a standard of regional and amateur theatres. Upcoming local productions can be found on the Music Theatre International site.

A new revival will be opening in London in 2005 at the Donmar Warehouse.
