In My Own Little Corner – Cinderella

Julie Andrews Julie Andrews. She was the first one I ever heard singing these songs, and she just *is* Cinderella to me. I’m so excited by the idea of them finally releasing the 1957 TV version on DVD so that I can see her performance as well as listen to it! Anyway, naturally, I think she is brilliant in everything she does – visit Julie Andrews.tv to learn more.
Victor Garber. I will never pass up an opportunity to talk about this great performer! Although his part in this movie, as King Maximillian, is relatively small, he still makes the most of every line, every look. He has a certain paternal quality that is incredibly effective – I know I want him for my dad! 🙂 You can find more about him at the Internet Movie Database. Victor Garber
Bernadette Peters Bernadette Peters. Yet another living legend that I adore in pretty much everything she does. Bernadette is a riot as the Stepmother – a perfect mix of the intimidating and the ridiculous. And apprently the shoes in the promos are actually on her feet – a very tiny 5 1/2! The Official Bernadette Peters Site has much more.
Paolo Montalban. He played the Prince in the 1997 TV movie, and he’s also the Prince I saw on stage. He has an absolutely lovely voice and very sweet demeanour – his delivery of “Do I love you because you’re beautiful?” is wonderful. Here’s a website on Paolo if you’d like to know more. Deborah Gibson Deborah Gibson. Still best known for her very successful pop career, Deborah has actually done quite a bit of theatre now, but Cinderella was the first show I saw her in. She’s got a very distinctive voice, and her acting was great as well! I’d love to see her in something else sometime. Take a trip to the Official Deborah Gibson Site for more.
