Happiness – You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown in the early 1950s
“Peanuts” debuted on October 2, 1950, in 7 different newspapers. It didn’t take long before perennial features such as Linus’ security blanket or Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown worked their way into the strip. In the 1970s, the first Charlie Brown television special aired. By the time the final newspaper strip appeared on February 13, 2000, it was seen in 21 languages in 2,600 newspapers, and had spawned several other television specials, and, of course, a Broadway musical.
