Sarah Lancashire. I hadn’t seen Sarah in anything before, having never been a Coronation Street fan, but I really enjoyed her Joyce. This could be a very unlikeable character in a lot of ways, but Sarah always let her humanity come through, and by the time she breaks into her big number, “Nobody”, you’re completely on her side. | Reece Shearsmith. Reece was another actor that I hadn’t had the pleasure of seeing before, though I’d heard of him from The Producers, and it’s easy to imagine him as Leo Bloom. He has a slightly hapless demeanour that would suit that role and also works well here. He’s a decent singer, and makes you root firmly for Gilbert. Visit his official website to learn more. |  |

Ann Emery. She was one of the few performers in this show that I had seen before, as Grandma in Billy Elliot. The role of Mother Dear in this show isn’t entirely dissimilar to the grandmother role. She definitely had her moments to shine during the hilarious “Pig No Pig” sequence! Read more about her on Wikipedia. |
