Movie Soundtrack. I listen to this soundtrack because it reminds me of the film, and not so much because it’s spectacular on its own. The cast is good, but it’s more fun to watch them sing the songs rather than to just listen to it. The orchestrations are good though, with lots of energy. It’s kind of strange – I would rather listen to the Disney soundtrack, but I’d rather watch the 1982 movie. |

Disney TV Movie Soundtrack. The great cast is what makes this soundtrack enjoyable. Audra McDonald can sound just a teeny bit too operatic at times, but other than that, she’s lovely. Victor Garber’s “Something was Missing” is wonderful. And Andrea McArdle’s brief appearance in “NYC” is a great touch. In many ways, listening to this CD is even more satisfying than watching the accompanying movie, since you don’t feel cheated by the lack of dialogue in between the songs! |
