Believe it or not, this was my first time seeing a Sondheim musical on stage! I was curious about the show, but the fact that Regan Thiel and Tyley Ross were in it certainly didn't hurt in my decision to go see it!

The cast was really very good - George Masswohl did a nice job as Sweeney, and Fiona Reed was a good Mrs. Lovett, though not entirely comfortable with the score, I felt. Tyley was great, though he basically sings the same song over and over again. :-) And Regan was lovely, though again, not a lot of different material to do.

The show itself was very well done as well - the sets were interesting, and the special effects with the barber chair worked perfectly. Probably the biggest laugh of the night went to the look on George Masswohl's face when he clues in to what Mrs. Lovett is suggesting. :-) The audience in general found the show very funny, although I was surprised by some of the children in the audience - I don't really think the show is appropriate for young children!

Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit, and would definitely go again if there was a cast I was interested in seeing.
