This is yet another classic novel that has been adapted to musical form, and again, it has worked wonderfully! I don't think I would have ever thought of turning The Secret Garden into a musical, but I'm sure glad somebody did!! The novel centers around young Mary Lennox, who is a character I adored when I first read the book. I could relate to her in many places, and I just felt like she was someone who could be a friend of mine! I also read this book to my younger brother when he was about 10, and he seemed to like the character of Colin quite a bit. I think that's what makes this novel so appealing to children...although the subject matter is a little mature, the children in the book are people that they see in themselves a lot of the time!
