So you'd think that after seeing it once and being prepared for the visual aspect of the show, that I wouldn't have cried this time. However, that logic never seems to apply to me. :-)
It was pretty much the same cast as it had been three weeks earlier, and again we had Monica Richards as Sarah. I think she went on quite often, so it shouldn't be a surprise that she was so wonderful. The first act actually seemed quicker this time, but that might be for many reasons. Not the least of which was that I was just excited to be at a show with Melanie and Alison...we'd waited a long time for that!
I had just started to interview some of the ensemble members of the show in the past week, so it was neat to see them on stage afterwards! It is such a solid cast...everyone is really talented. And I don't think I mentioned Judy Kaye last time...seeing her on stage was a real thrill. I think my favourite parts of the show are New Music, Till We Reach That Day, Back to Before, and the finale. I was still sobbing again when the little Coalhouse came out...could there be anything more touching??
The Quotes:
"Weren't you here a few weeks ago?"
The girl in the Livent musical theatre store, recognizing my pins :-)
"She doesn't even know our names"
Alison, at the stage door, when I got a little mixed up introducing her and Melanie to Janine :-p
