Recording the Producers. This kind of video is something of a novel idea, at least in recent years, and I really, really enjoyed it. I could have done without some of the Mel Brooks "comedy", but just getting a glimpse into the recording process was great. Matthew Broderick's Marlon Brando impression is a highlight. :-) Plus, in a way, this is better than just listening to the CD, because you get to see the actors getting into character and "performing" the songs a bit (especially Gary Beach ;-). It's a great way to remember the show, and I think it would be a good introduction as well for those who haven't seen it on stage yet. There are a few extras on the DVD that are fun as well! It can be seen from time to time on PBS, but I suggest picking up a copy for yourself!
