Well, I hadn't been planning on seeing the show this night either, but thanks to BarbaraAnne's (and some others') generosity, I was able to see this second-last performance at the Minskoff.

I was actually in a pretty good mood for most of this day, despite it being the closing weekend...it was lots of fun to see all the Leaguers, and have some enthusiastic audiences at the show, so, unlike Barb, I didn't cry through the whole show this time. :-) I did, of course, cry a bit, but overall I just really enjoyed being there and seeing the show again.

Douglas had added a new line into the painting scene the week before...giving the painting a good look and then saying, "My, you were generous with me!" It cracked me up every time I heard it. :-) Also because I had worked it into an earlier poem for him, the first night he'd done it, and he seemed happy that I'd liked it...anyway. :-)

The stage door that night was an absolute zoo...Douglas ran off, and I don't blame him at all. I thought Barb was going to beat up these people who actually suggested running after him. :-) I did, however, still wait in the windtunnel until quarter to 1, 'cause that's how long it took Mr. Storm to make an appearance! They were having a bit of a celebration upstairs. :-) And he told me that the cast had something special planned for Douglas the next day, and we were just going to eat it up.

After that, I went to Barrymore's with Marsha, and then over to their hotel room at the Mariott till 3 in the morning (to help make "last show survival kits"), when I finally decided it might be a good idea to take the subway home before it got light again. :-)
