I was thrilled that they decided to record this production! Although, I would have preferred if they had done it in front of a live audience rather than in a studio...but that's a pretty small nitpick in the larger scheme of things. At least there's no lip-synching going on! :-) The cast is really wonderful - Hugh Jackman primary amongst them. Maureen Lipman, Shuler Hensley and Jimmy Johnston are also standouts, and I had to laugh to see Peter Polycarpou - he turns up everywhere! :-) The dancers are all very talented, and Susan Stroman's choreography is a wonder. The DVD also includes a very interesting "Making of" special that is well worth a watch! If you've never seen the show, this is a fabulous introduction, and if you're a fan, you will certainly find things to like about this recording.
