I really wanted to see the show once more before it was finished, and I’d been hyping it up a LOT at work, so Jennifer decided to come and see it with me. We got the last two seats in the theatre for this performance!
The crowd was kind of a mix between the other two times I saw the show here – not as reserved as the first time, but certainly not as involved as the second time.
I was very curious to see what Jenn’s reaction to it would be, and she said she definitely could see Jamie’s side of it more as well (well, other than during “Nobody Needs to Know”, when she turned to me in horror and whispered, “He cheated on her?!” :-). I think that just shows how well Tyley did the part. And we were *both* choked up during “The Story of Schmuel”. I truly think that is one of the sweetest songs ever written.
Anyway, this production was just fantastic, and I was so happy to see Tyley get a Dora nomination for his work in the show. It’s a brilliant show, and I know I’ll definitely see it again if/when it comes back.
