Goodbye Until Tomorrow – The Last Five Years

Brenda and I had excellent seats for this performance, in the fourth row, and it was great to see a few of the nuances of these great performances so close up. Although, the Berkeley theatre is so small, the balcony seats were great as well!

The biggest difference about this particular performance was the reaction of the crowd. The first time I went, it was mostly subscription seats, and a much older audience. This time, there were a lot of theatre people there, and just much younger people in general, and they all had a blast. Tyley and Blythe just seemed to feed off that energy, and often lines were drowned out because people were still laughing so hard from the previous ones.

I still found myself siding a little more with Jamie, though “I’m a Part of That” worked a bit better for me this time. And “The Story of Schmuel” still made me all teary-eyed at the end of it! Overall, it was a fantastic performance by these two wonderful actors, and it just made me want to see it again!
